Users may filter a specific area on the Map using the Drawing Tools.
Upon applying a drawing tool (either a Rectangle or Polygon), the user’s selected filters will apply only on the selected area that the boundary was drawn on.
Drawing with the Rectangular Tool
To draw with the rectangular tool, first select the the Rectangular Tool icon on the leftmost part of the map.
Drag your cursor on the map to draw a rectangle on your selected area.
If the map is zoomed out, it will automatically zoom in after the rectangle tool is applied.
From here, you can adjust your rectangle’s size by dragging your cursor to narrow down your selected area.
From here, users may view individual records of incidents by clicking on the blue dots provided on the map.
Clicking on the “View” button within the popup will lead you to the full Incident Report of your incident.
Drawing with the Polygon Tool
To draw a custom polygon on the map, start by clicking the Polygon button located on the leftmost part of the map, directly below the Rectangle button.
To begin drawing, the user must first select a starting point on the map on which they would like the polygon tool applied.
From here, the user can select different points on the map on which they wish their polygon to encompass.
To close the polygon, simple drag your mouse back to your first selected starting point.
As with the Rectangle Tool, users may view individual records of incidents by clicking on the blue dots provided on the map.
Clicking on the “View” button within the popup will lead you to the full report of your selected incident.
Deleting Applied Drawing Tools
To delete your applied drawing tools, simply re-click on either the Rectangle Tool or Polygon Tool button on the left side of the map.
